Study Visits to Social Projects in the City of Lisbon
When attending the European Social Services Awards in Lisbon, participants are invited to join study visits to social projects in the City of Lisbon. Take the opportunity to learn more about how different social services programmes are run in Portugal from the service providers themselves. When registering for the ceremony, you may indicate your interest in attending one of the visits.
All the visits will be in English and take place during the morning of 4 November or afternoon of 5 November.

Ó.S. Lisboa – Serviço Municipal de Teleassistência: Response aimed at older people and persons with disabilities that operates 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, through the provision of telephone equipment with a connection to a Joint Operations Room, where elements of Civil Protection, the Fire Brigade Regiment and the Municipal Police are available, ensuring personalised service and immediate assistance in emergencies, as well as support from loneliness. The initiative also includes a service for small repairs in people’s homes, in partnership with Fundação São João de Deus.

Universo D | Os Direitos na Criança e no Jovem: Education Programme for Human Rights and Values, which, through a participatory methodology and non-formal education, invites experiential and voluntary learning about the rights of children and young people on the way to global citizenship.

Operação de Emprego para Pessoas com Deficiência: Programme developed in partnership with the Instituto do Emprego e Formação Profissional and Fundação LIGA, to promote the employability of people with disabilities and the awareness of the business community about the professional skills of this population group.

Gabinete de Finanças Saudáveis: This is a support service for families, especially the most disadvantaged and unprotected, in their day-to-day financial management. The service includes family budget monitoring, support in restructuring credit agreements or debts and advice on how to access public aid for energy, food, and other social support.
