Travel

 

Lisbon is easily accessible by air, rail, and road. For more sustainable travel, we recommend traveling by rail or road if possible.

1. Air Travel:

Humberto Delgado Airport (LIS)

Humberto Delgado Airport, also known as Lisbon Airport, is the main international gateway to Lisbon. From the airport, you can reach the Pavilhão do Conhecimento by metro, bus, or taxi.

    • Metro: Take the Red Line VM from the airport to Oriente station. The journey takes about 10 minutes. From Oriente station, it is a 10-minute walk to the Pavilhão do Conhecimento.
    • Bus: Several bus lines connect the airport to various parts of the city. You can take Line 744 to Estação Oriente and walk to the Pavilhão do Conhecimento.
    • Taxi: Taxis are available at the airport and can take you directly to the Pavilhão do Conhecimento in about 10 minutes, depending on traffic. 

Porto Airport (OPO)

Porto Airport is another major airport in Portugal. From Porto, you can take a direct train or bus to Lisbon and then use local transport to reach the conference venue.

    • Bus: Direct buses from Porto to Lisbon are available through FlixBus, taking around 3 to 4 hours. From the bus station, you can take the metro or a taxi to the venue.
    • Train: Take a train from Porto station to Lisbon Oriente station. The journey takes about 2.5 to 3 hours.

2. Rail:

Comboios de Portugal (CP)

The official Portuguese rail operator is CP. Lisbon is well-connected with regular train services from Porto, Faro, and other major cities in Portugal.

Lisbon’s main train stations are Santa Apolónia and Oriente. For reaching the Pavilhão do Conhecimento, Oriente station is more convenient.

3. Road:

There are several bus operators providing services to Lisbon:

Rede Expressos

Rede Expressos offers extensive bus services throughout Portugal. More details can be found on the Rede Expressos website.

FlixBus: FlixBus provides long-distance bus services to and from Lisbon. For schedules and ticket information, visit the FlixBus website.
