Linda Weir joined the Health Information and Quality Authority in 2007 and has worked in a number of teams across the organisation in that time. She is currently a Programme Manager for Health and Social Care Standards in HIQA’s Health Information and Standards Directorate, managing a team responsible for developing national standards and implementation support tools for health and social care services. Linda has overseen the development of national standards in the areas of maternity services, adult safeguarding, infection prevention and control, and children’s social services. She led the development and implementation of a principles-based approach to the development of national standards, focusing on outcomes for people using health and social care services.  She holds an honours degree in Government and Public Policy and a Masters in Public Health and Epidemiology from University College Cork.
